11-17-2015 School Board Workshop -Head Start Review

The School Board of Brevard County, Florida met in a Board Workshop for the purpose of a Head Start Review on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at the Educational Services Facility, 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, Florida. Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Florida Today newspaper on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. The affidavit of publication with a copy of the ad attached is filed in the Affidavit File in the Board Office.

4. Head Start Leadership, Governance, Management Systems Monitoring Review


Chairman Kneessy explained that the Federal Office of Head Start is conducting a Leadership, Governance, and Management Systems monitoring review of the School Board of Brevard County Head Start Program.

She continued that the purpose of the workshop is for Sharon Benson, lead reviewer, to interview members of the School Board as the governing body for the district Head Start program. A governing body interview is a required component of the monitoring review.  

In addition the School Board members, exerts who advise he governing body will also participate in the interview which includes Harold Bistline, School Board attorney, Judy Preston, associate superintendent of Financial Services and Teresa Wright director of Early Childhood Education and Title I.

Chairman Kneessy welcomed Ms. Benson.  Ms. Benson began her interview questions.
