Field Trip - Merritt Island FIRST Robotics Team 801 - FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri
The Robotics Team is planning to attend the FIRST Championship in St. Louis, Missouri on April 23-27, 2014. Approximately 12 to 18 sudents will be attending. The five adult chaperones are both male and female. One (1) chaperone is a current Brevard Public Schools employee, one (1) is a logistic specialist mentor for NDEP, one (1) is a project engineer manager mentor with Lockheed Martin, one (1) is a biomedical engineer mentor from NASA and one (1) is an electrical engineer mentor with QinetiQ. All chaperones are fingerprinted with the District. The team will travel by plane and will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event. Students will be either walking or taking public transportation from the hotel to the Edward Jones Dome. The students will miss three school days. The trip will be funded by various fundraisers and business partners including Jacobs Technology, NDEP, Lockheed Martin and Brevard Public Schools. There will be no cost to the District.
