Field Trip - Cocoa High School FIRST Robotics - Finger Lakes Regional in Rochester, NY and Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada
The Cocoa High Robotics Team consisting of approximately 14-20 students and four (4) chaperones is planning to attend the Finger Lakes Regional in Rochester, New York March 25-30, 2014. The four adult chaperones are both male and female. One is a current Brevard Public Schools employee, two are engineer mentors from NASA Launch Services who are properly fingerprinted with the district and one is a registered volunteer. The team will travel by plane and will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event. Students will either walk or take public transportation from the hotel to the Rochester Institute of Technology and an educational sightseeing trip to Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. All policies and procedures for BPS field trips will be adhered to.
The trip will be funded by various fundraisers and business partners including NASA Launch Services, QuinetiQ Corporation and Brevard Public Schools. THERE WILL BE NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.
Approve the request for the Cocoa High Robotics Team, approximately 14-20 students and four chaperones, to attend the Finger Lakes Regional in Rochester, New York on March 25-30, 2014. This will include a trip to Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. The students will not miss school.
