Discussion

While upholding Brevard County’s high standard of excellence, Merritt Island High School Choral Department has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall on June 2, 2008 under the direction of Dr. Craig Arnold.  Aside from several intense rehearsals and performance of a life-time, the tour will include a Broadway show, visiting the World Trade Center Site, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Statue of Liberty and many other sights of New York City.

All air travel and NYC charter bus arrangements are being completed through Manhattan Concert Productions.  Merritt Island H.S. Choral Department will arrange for local transportation to and from Orlando International Airport.  The cost per student is $1200 and the Choral Department is working with fundraisers and area establishments to raise the money to subsidize this amount.  No student will be left behind due to inability to pay.  THERE IS NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.
