F-17. Satellite High School Wind Ensemble to attend Southern Division Conference, Columbus, GA, 2/27-29/08
The ensemble will travel from Satellite High School via Lynx Charter Bus to Columbus, Georgia, leaving at noon on February 27, 2008. During their stay in Georgia, they will be residing at the Marriott Hotel (across from Columbus University, where the conference will be held).
The 50 member ensemble (20 boys and 30 girls) will be accompanied by two Brevard County teachers and five Brevard County School Board registered chaperones (2 male and 3 female). There will be no cost to the Brevard County School District -- funds to be provided by student fundraising and music program donations.
Two and one-half (2 1/2) school days will be missed by students (1/2 day) on February 27 and full days on February 28 and 29, 2008.
Approve the field trip for Satellite High School Wind Ensemble to attend the National Band Association-College Band Director Association Southern Division Conference to be held in Columbus, Georgia on February 27-29, 2008. The ensemble was selected by audition to perform at this prestigious music conference.
