Field Trip - Cocoa High School FIRST Robotics - FIRST Alamo Regional in San Antonio, Texas
The Cocoa High Robotics Team consisting of approximately 15-20 students and 4 chaperones is planning to attend the FIRST Alamo Regional in San Antonio, Texas. The four adult chaperones are both male and female. One is a current Brevard Public Schools employee, two are engineer mentors from NASA Launch Services who are properly fingerprinted with the district and one is a registered volunteer. The team will travel by plane and will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event. Students will either walk or take public transportation from the hotel to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Students will not miss any school since the trip is planned for March 26-31, which is during the spring vacation.
The trip will be funded by various fundraisers and business partners including NASA Launch Services, QuinetiQ North Amierica Corporation and Brevard Public Schools. THERE WILL BE NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.
Approve the request for the Cocoa High Robotics Team, approximately 15-20 students and 4 chaperones, to attend the FIRST Alamo Regional in San Antonio, Texas on March 26 through March 31, 2013. The students will not miss any school due to spring vacation.
