Satellite High School - Construction Management - HVAC - SALES SURTAX
The District awarded a purchase order to Canaveral Construction, Inc. to replace two failed kitchen exhaust fans under their continuing contract for construction management services in the amount of $23,499.58.
During construction, it was noted that new roof curbs were needed to comply with current wind loading requirements. The change order amount to add the roof curbs is $2,868.11, which includes a roofing subcontractor in the amount of $2,400. Since this amount is more than 10% of the original purchase order amount, Board approval is required to ratify the change order so the contractor can be paid.
This is a replace at failure out-of-sequence sales surtax project that was reported to the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee in April 2017.
Approve/ratify the change order to Canaveral Construction, Inc. in the amount of $2,868.11 for roof curbs at Satellite High School required in conjunction with the kitchen exhaust fan replacement.
