3. Final Candidate Considerations

Board members had individual meetings with each of the three candidates (Bridges, Gibbs and Wallace) beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 12:45 p.m.  Board members assembled together for discussion in order to ultimately determine which candidate would be offered the position of General Counsel for Brevard Public Schools.

Dialogue was extensive as merits of each final applicant were discussed and weighed.  Each candidate had strengths that would be beneficial for the District.  The decision process was arduous; but Board members were happy to have three such qualified persons over which to deliberate. Board members also took the opportunity to reach out to various persons by telephone for more information. Cabinet members' feedback was given consideration.

Final consensus was to offer the position to Paul Gibbs.  Details of the contract were discussed.
