11-22-2016 Organization of the Board with Oath and Regular School Board Meeting
Agenda Item #13

Title
Recognition of District STEM Alliance Winners

Discussion

The STEM Alliance, is a partnership between public schools and the private sector working together to celebrate the success of science and mathematics in our schools.  The STEM Alliance Scholar Program recognizes student scholars from participating school districts throughout Central Florida, who participate and excel in challenging science and math classes, clubs and competitions throughout their middle and high school years.

The twenty 2016 district winners were selected from among the school winners.  The selection was based on a blind application review process and supporting evidence provided by each student or school.  These students will receive an award tonight, presented by a STEM Alliance Board representative.

Recommendation

To acknowledge the district STEM Alliance scholar winners.
