Discussion

The Career and Technology Education (CTE) is creating an advanced manufacturing lab at Bayside High School. The proposed remodel will create a CNC (Computerized Numeric Control) machine shop and classroom. The program is in support of the strong and growing aerospace engineering and manufacturing presence in Brevard County.

H.J. High Construction has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal for the project under their continuing contract for construction management services in an amount not to exceed $246,690.80. The proposal is based on a design by RZK, Inc. under their continuing contract for architectural services. Administrative and permitting costs are estimated at $3,500.

Board approval is required for purchase orders exceeding $50,000.  Approval is requested as a consent agenda item without prior information because the work is scheduled to be done over the winter break.
