Central Middle School Trip to Atlanta, Georgia
Central Middle School Brevard Future Educators Association requests permission to attend the 22nd Annual Future Educators Association International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 18-20, 2011. The FEA Conference is an opportunity for students to meet and share with other students from around the country that have a desire to become educators. The students will participate in workshops and competitions.
Four students and two adult chaperones will participate in the trip. The group plans to leave on Friday, February 18, and return on Sunday, February 20. One school day (February 18) will be missed. The students will stay at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the site of the conference. The group is considering two ways of transportation for the trip. If the group decides to use airline transportation, the trip will cost $186 per person. If the group decides to travel by rental vehicle, the cost will be $36 per person. All other costs (transportation, registration, lodging, food), with the exception of spending money, will be provided by the proceeds of club fundraising. The Central BFEA students has conducted fundraising activities such as dances, talent shows and support education apple cards. There will be no cost to the District.
Approve the request by the Central Middle School Brevard Future Educators Association to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, on February 18-20, 2011, to participate in the 22nd Annual Future Educators Association International Conference.
