Cocoa High Robotics Team - FIRST Denver Regional - Denver, CO
The Cocoa High Robotics Team is planning to attend the FIRST Colorado Regional in Denver, Colorado. The five adult chaperones are both male and female. Two are current Brevard Public Schools employees, three are engineer mentors from NASA Launch Services/Analex Corporation, who are properly fingerprinted with the district. The team will travel by air leaving from Orlando International Airport and will rent vans or a charter bus to travel to and from the competition. The team will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event. (Students will either walk or take the rental vans/charter bus from the hotel to and from the Daniel L. Ritchie Center.) Students will be taking a walking tour of the University of Denver Engineering Department. The trip will be funded by various and business partners including: Analex Corporation, NASA Launch Services, Brevard Public Schools and GovConnection. THERE WILL BE NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.
Approve the request for the Cocoa High Robotics Team, approximately 25-30 students and five (5) chaperones to attend the FIRST Denver Regional in Denver, Colorado March 23-28, 2010. The students will miss four (4) days of school.
