Merritt Island High Robotics Team 801 field trip to Denver, Colorado
The Merritt Island High Robotics team is requesting permission to attend the FIRST Colorado Regional in Denver, Colorado. The five adult chaperones are both male and female. One chaperone is a current Brevard Public School employee, one is a logistic specialist mentor from NDEP, one is a project engineer manager mentor with Lockheed Martin, one is a mechanical engineer mentor for Jacobs Technologies and one is a project manager mentor with Vencore. All chaperones are properly fingerprinted with the district. The team will travel by plane and will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event. Approximately 16-20 students will be attending. Students will be transported in Avis rental vans from the hotel to the Daniel L. Ritchie Center. The trip is scheduled for March 24 - 29, 2015. This is during Spring Break so no school days will be missed. The trip will be funded by various fundraisers and business partners including Jacobs Technology, NDEP, Lockheed Martin, and Brevard Schools. There will be no cost to the District.
