CareerSource Community Work Experience Partnership
The Brevard Workforce Development Board (CareerSource Brevard) has teamed with Brevard Public Schools to develop a mutually beneficial work experience program in which personnel referred by CareerSource Brevard may be provided job training experience within Brevard Public Schools.
Targeted positions for inclusion in this partnership have been defined and agreed to by both parties with program parameters outlined in the attached MOU. Training hours for approximately six people was used to determine the maximum available funding approved by the Brevard Workforce Development Board of $210,000.
Fifteen thousand dollars of the training dollars will be used to support the Project Manager position approved by the BPS Board on September 9, 2014. An additional portion of these funds will be used to provide for a 6-month pilot position in Facilities for an Energy/Resource Conservation Specialist. Other positions will be brought before the BPS Board as they develop.
Staff recommends Board approval of the attached agreements.
